Greenlawn Landscaping, Inc has expanded its project offerings beyond the traditional palette, to include "sustainable" options, such as green roofs. In 2008 we collaborated with Hicks Architectural Group on a green roof project in Park Ridge. Failure of the waterproofing of the garage resulted in an overhaul of the structure and redesign of the plaza space. A new fountain, intensive landscape beds with 21 trees and 42 lights were part of the concept, as well as 6,000 square feet of LifeRoof green roof modules. Greenlawn continues to provide maintenance for the plaza landscaping.
Marla Cohen was a freelance digital artist. Now she is the company president, handling internal, marketing and office responsibilities and serving as the first line of contact with customers. Marla grew up only a couple of blocks away from Greenlawn"s office and loves riding her bike to work through the old neighborhood.
Dee Busch owned a graphic design studio for 20 years before deciding that she wanted to pursue her passion and heading for Triton Community College where she earned a certificate in landscape design and horticulture. For nearly five years before buying Greenlawn Landscaping, she did freelance work for other contractors. She directs the crews, does the design work and oversees all projects.
Greenlawn executes many natural stone projects, including patios and walkways, using both irregular stone like the Lilac Bluestone pictured at right, and patterned stone that has a more formal and uniform feel. We choose the product that is appropriate for the style of the home and homeowner, and for the useage of the space. We hand-select beautiful stone products from our vendors that make each project unique.
Greenlawn participates in many community and neighborhood events. We are active in the chambers of commerce of Sauganash, Edgebrook and Lincolnwood. Here we are at the first annual Lincolnwood Home and Garden show, viewing a recent installation project with the project homeowner, a Greenlawn client and resident of Lincolnwood.
